The creation of a citizen platform in MIJAS for 2023 is gaining more and more strength.
There are already more than 30 Mijeños and Mijeñas who have become active throughout the Municipality through their CITIZEN NGO called #SoydeMijas
They are kicking daily throughout the town making the initiative known and in search of more people related to the project.
We ask ourselves: "How many neighbours are there fed up with the usual political parties and a partisan bureaucracy that has already fed up even the most patient?"
Today in Mijas there are many residents who no longer vote. In 2019, there were 22,000 registered voters who renounced their constitutional right because they did not want to vote for the candidates of the parties present, they did not even vote for the small leftist parties that were united in a single coalition.
It is that the "Ciudadano Mijeño" and the "Ciudadana Mijeña" are very intelligent people and they have seen that the majority of the candidates for Councilor have almost no training, not to mention higher education.
So that we understand each other better: "Who is running for Councilor has no experience at all." No one takes away their enthusiasm, but this does not improve the lives of the residents of Mijas, on the contrary, it ruins their lives even more.
For this reason and for this reason alone, the activists of the Citizen NGO #SoydeMijas have decided that their Councilors are only prepared people: with studies and training or with a demonstrable working life, or both.
Its 25 Councilors will have to have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the sector where they are presenting themselves so that they are the right people to fill their position.
The same will happen with the 25 positions of trust. The NGO and its management group are of the idea that they must be people of great excellence and virtues because they must be the ones who know how to resolve the doubts of the Councilors and the Mayor in case of need or emergency.
Mijas is preparing to receive the first citizen platform in the next municipal elections of 2023.
