Today the majority of Mijeños and Mijeñas are completely absent from the political and social life of their Municipality. This fact was evidenced by the more than 22,000 registered Mijeños citizens who did not vote in 2019 and by those who did vote but in part simply to comply with their constitutional right: VOTE
To try to remedy this gap, the Mijas City Council, through its company Mijas Comunicaciones, invests more than 3 million euros per year filming and publishing the mayor and his councilors on a daily basis as if they were actors in a Mijas Telenovela soap opera.
From this discontent the #SoydeMijas citizen platform is born, a non-profit NGO made up of Spanish and international citizens fed up with the administrative incompetence of their rulers and tired of continuing to be abandoned.
The citizen platform Soy de Mijas has focused its social and electoral program for 2023 on Citizens. The latter are the most important thing in the program and the center of his entire being.
